During our two year programme you create your own career within Risk. You learn more about the discipline Risk and the financial services sector. Our International Talent Programme also allows you to discover yourself through a wide selection of trainings tailored to your needs.

Above all, 'change banking' means taking action. The financial world is currently facing many changes and as a Risk Management trainee you play an important role in tackling them. The findings from the analysis you perform, mainly on behalf of Retail and Wholesale Banking, will influence our company results and the risks we are prepared to take. Therefore, you need to have a strong sense of self-belief and stand behind your decisions.

Your rotations

In your 18 months, you set to work on projects related to Credit & Trading Risk, Balance Sheet Risk, Risk Services, Compliance, Operation Risk Management or Regulatory. You are handed a lot of responsibility within your role right from day one. You are completely free to decide on your second rotation for yourself. Many of our trainees choose to spend one rotation abroad working on an international project, such as in London, Spain, Singapore or New York. This international adventure is not only great fun but is also good for your personal and professional development.

After your first 18 months, having gained a wealth of experience, you set to work in a more permanent position where you'll further enhance your knowledge. Your personal preferences and interests form an important starting point for the roles you fulfill. You could for example start your permanent role abroad, should this interest you.

Your benefits

Needless to say we offer you a good base salary for this traineeship (starters position), paid annual leave, an impressive training package and a permanent contract. Your analysis and recommendations will lead to a carefully considered risk profile that enables the bank to make a healthy profit but above all ensures the safety of our customers' money, both now and in the future. Together with other (international) trainees you will participate in global events, which will enable you to quickly build up a large network.

As a trainee you receive guidance from your line manager and your Early career talent manager (trainee manager). If you are looking for additional guidance you can ask a Senior Manager to mentor you. They will coach you, inspire you, introduce you to their network and share their knowledge and insights with you.

Our Risk trainee

  • Has a master's degree, preferably in Econometrics, Economics, Law or (quantitative) Finance (and degrees in Mathematics, Engineering and Physics will also be considered).
  • Has an interest in financial services, an innovative take on banking and an unconditional drive to turn ideas into reality.
  • Has gained (international) experience through various extracurricular activities.
  • Is enthusiastic and considers the interests of our customers and colleagues.
  • Is fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch/French is a big plus and will give you access to more teams and roles
  • Has a maximum of 2 years of professional experience
