Het Service Introduction Center (SIC) bewaakt de technische kwaliteit van de bij Smals ontwikkelde softwaretoepassingen. In het bijzonder valideert het team de performantie en stabiliteit van de toepassingen alvorens ze in productie worden genomen. Het team voert ook opdrachten uit als reviews van de architectuur, analyse van incidenten in de productieomgeving, begeleiding bij projecten, technische opleidingen voor de teams, en ontwikkelen van ondersteunende tools.

Als Java Performance Testing Engineer bepaal je mee de nodige testen en testomgeving om eventuele problemen met de performantie en/of de stabiliteit van complexe toepassingen snel op te sporen. Je begint met eenvoudigere toepassingen zodat je vertrouwd kan worden met de gebruikte tools en technieken.

Je implementeert de testen aan de hand van tools als JMeter of Gatling. Als er mock services of bijkomende tooling nodig zijn ontwikkel je die ook. Bij dit alles word je ondersteund door ervaren collega's.

Je analyseert de resultaten kritisch en met oog voor detail.

Bij eventuele problemen, vastgesteld tijdens de testen of in productie, doe je bijkomend onderzoek naar de oorzaak. Door ondersteuning van collega's, zelfstudie en opleiding bouw je gaandeweg de vereiste technische kennis op om dit uiteindelijk zelfstandig te kunnen. Je werkt samen met de betrokken teams om het probleem op te lossen.

Je rapporteert mondeling en schriftelijk over de testresultaten en vaststellingen.

Afhankelijk van je eigen capaciteiten en interesses krijg je ook de mogelijkheid om mee te ontwikkelen aan de interne tools van het SIC.

Uw profiel

- Je behaalde een Bachelor- of Masterdiploma (bij voorkeur in informatica) en je hebt ervaring met Java/JEE-technologieën.

- Je hebt kennis van Java EE, EJB, JMS, Spring, Hibernate, JDBC.

- Kennis van Python, Linux, Docker/Podman, Kubernetes/Openshift, JBoss, Enterprise Service Bus, of reeds ervaring hebben met Load Testing & Performance Tuning, zijn pluspunten.

- Door jouw vlotte communicatievaardigheden kun je jouw oplossingen ingang doen vinden en kun je ondersteuning bieden aan de ontwikkelaars om de performantie, stabiliteit en robuustheid van de toepassingen te verbeteren.

- Je bent resultaatgericht, je hebt zin voor initiatief en je pakt je taken aan met de nodige efficiëntie en verantwoordelijkheidszin.

- Tot slot heb je een passieve kennis van het Frans.
