API Squad will drive the development and deployment of robust APIs, ensuring high availability and performance. This role is pivotal in enhancing the developer experience and operational efficiency through technical expertise and a deep understanding of modern development practices. Additionally, the Team Lead will spearhead the transition from the current hybrid platform to the new developer productivity platform by mid-2025, ensuring a seamless and efficient migration.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Guide the API squad to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure APIs, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
API Development and Maintenance: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot
Infrastructure Management: Support the platform team in delivering a robust API infrastructure leveraging AWS services, particularly EKS, ECR, and Msk
DevOps Practices: Champion the adaptation of DevOps tools and methodologies (e.g., Kubernetes, TerraForm, GIT Hub Actions, ArgoCD) to enhance automation, deployment, and monitoring processes
Collaboration and Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the API squad and other development teams, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration
Support and Incident Management: Efficiently triage and manage API support requests and incidents, providing technical guidance to the team and solutions to our API customers
Task and Project Management: Prioritize tasks and support multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and deliver business value
Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and compliance measures to protect API data and infrastructure
Platform Transition: Lead the API transition from the current hybrid platform to the new developer productivity platform by mid-2025, ensuring a seamless and efficient migration
Technical skills required
Proficient in Java and Spring Boot
Experience with AWS services, particularly EKS, ECR, and Msk
Familiarity with Kubernetes, TerraForm, Tekton, ArgoCD, Keycloak, and Kafka
Experience with MongoDB
Experience in writing and maintaining REST APIs
General knowledge and experience with these technologies to work effectively with them
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years senior-level experience in software development.
MSc in Computer Science or equivalent field
Proven experience in a team lead or senior developer role, preferably within an API-focused team
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle technical challenges
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
DevOps-oriented mindset with experience in configuring and using relevant tools for application development and deployment
Demonstrate effective leadership to maintain a consistent sprint velocity and accurate backlog estimation
Foster team unity and a positive work culture to handle tasks and challenges effectively
Seize opportunities, where appropriate, to innovate and improve API development processes and practices
