De taken van een Sr. LinuxSystem Engineer omvatten o.a. ontwerpen, installeren, onderhouden en optimaliseren van de ICT infrastructuur en de ICT hybride Datacenter services van Brussels Airport die cruciaal zijn voor de ondersteuning van de bedrijfsvoering en de 24/7 luchthaven operaties.

Deze functie rapporteert aan de Senior Product Manager Linux

Ontwerp, installatie, onderhoud en verbetering van de ICT-infrastructuur en het Datacenter

  • Installeert software, nieuwe toepassingen of verbeteringen/wijzigingen aan bestaande toepassingen .
  • Onderzoekt mogelijke optimalisaties en structurele verbeteringen, werkt ze uit en installeert ze.
  • Volgt problemen op, beheert en implementeert de oplossingen.
  • Staat in voor de opvolging van de beschikbaarheid, de prestaties en de gebruikte capaciteit van de omgevingen en voor het opstellen van een capaciteitsplanning. Daarbij maakt hij/zij goed ge nformeerde beslissingen over de plaats en de wijze waarop de werklasten optimaal ge mplementeerd worden.
  • Documenteert en stelt procedures op voor installatie, configuratie en beheer.
  • Test bestaande procedures, past ze indien nodig aan of stelt nieuwe procedures op.
  • Verzorgt, bewaakt en optimaliseert continue de beveiliging van de ICT infrastructuur, in samenwerking met de security verantwoordelijken.
  • De overeenkomsten met de klanten voor de Linux-infrastructuur ICT-services opvolgen.
  • Je bent het aanspreekpunt voor het Linux en Middleware migratie project
  • Als dusdanig ben je een expert in het oplossen van upgrade gerelateerde problemen en het aanbieden van structurele oplossingen.
  • De Linux-infrastructuur beheren volgens de afgesproken serviceniveaus (SLA's).
  • De goede functionering van de monitoring en gebruikerservaring nauwlettend volgen.
  • Respect voor ITIL/Change Proces: Onderhoudsactiviteiten plannen volgens de gepreciseerde "roll out requests" en niet overeengekomen productie-impact uitsluiten.
  • De datacenter manager adviseren in verband met toekomstige investeringen in de infrastructuur, om de productie in werking te houden voor toekomstige behoeften.
  • Een diplomatische schakel zijn tussen de verschillende ICT stakeholders en het team.

Ondersteuning bij uitwerken en implementeren van vernieuwingsprojecten

  • Geeft advies over vernieuwingsprojecten en migraties en is in staat om zelfstandig (migratie) projecten tot een goed einde te brengen.
  • Maakt deel uit van project teams als ICT infrastructuur en integratie specialist.
  • Ziet toe op de naleving van operationele eisen.
  • Voert operationele testen uit.

Business Support

  • Staat collega's van ICT en andere departementen bij, zowel in het 24/7 operationeel ICT beheer als in de uitvoering van projecten. Neemt hierbij de 2de-lijns probleem opvolging voor zijn/haar rekening.
  • Levert efficiënte en kwaliteitsvolle ondersteuning aan eindgebruikers en klanten.

Opvolgen van de ontwikkelingen op vlak van ICT technologie en luchthavenontwikkeling

  • Houdt eigen kennis op het gebied van ICT technologie en (luchthaven) business up-to-date door het volgen van specifieke trainingen en workshops of seminars.
  • Denkt mee met de teamleader en adviseert inzake de ICT strategie ter ondersteuning van de kritische succesfactoren, noden en uitdagingen van onze omgeving.
    • Kennisniveau Bachelor of gelijkwaardig door ervaring
    • Minimum 5 jaar relevante ervaring met Linux
    • Algemene kennis van bedrijfsprocessen
    • Ervaring met projectopvolging en beheer
    • Gedrevenheid, flexibiliteit en brede ICT bagage onderbouwen je klant- en oplossingsgerichtheid
    • Grondige kennis van fundamentele ICT principes, architectuur en toegepaste systemen in moderne Datacenters waaronder:
    • ICT-infrastructuur architectuur: high-availability
    • Ansible scripting, Redhat, Redhat Satelite, automation, nginx, jboss, middleware
    • Je hebt ervaring met OS (side-by-side/in place) en Redhat based upgrades
    • Je hebt een grondige kennis in het beheren en configureren van Linux-omgevingen (SAN, NAS, VMWare, basic networking (VLAN's, default gateway), …)
    • ICT infrastructuur beveiliging
    • Goede kenis van git , CICD en orchestation
    • Nice to have: MariaDB ervaring, ervaring met monitoring oplossing (perf metrics, logs, alerts, ), Containerization,Identity management, authenticatie en authorisatie: (Azure) Active Directory, GPO
    • Fundamental network skills, technolgie voor veilige data verbindingen: VLAN, Firewall requests, DNS, DHCP
    • Is vertrouwd met de procesinrichting volgens ITIL en heeft ervaring met projectuitvoering.
    • Je beschikt over goede mondelinge en schriftelijke communicatievaardigheden, goede organisatorische vaardigheden en je kan vlot met anderen communiceren.
    • Je documenteert je werk
    • Je bent security minded
    • Je neemt deel aan een on-call regeling, op basis van een beurtrol.
    • Gesproken basiskennis van de tweede landstaal en gesproken en geschreven kennis van het Engels
    • Operationeel na maximum 5 maanden
