Context of the mission/Objective(s) of the job
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud / Database Developer with a strong background in database management, DevOps, automation, security, and Delta Lake.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based database solutions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of Azure cloud services and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Azure-based database solutions to meet business requirements.
Implement and manage data pipelines, including ETL processes, using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Delta Lake.
Optimize database performance and ensure the scalability and reliability of database systems.
Develop and implement database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
Automate database management tasks using Azure DevOps and other automation tools.
Monitor and troubleshoot database issues to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that support application needs.
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, database management, and DevOps.
Requirements.
Proven experience as an Azure Cloud / Database Developer or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks.
Experience with Delta Lake and building data pipelines.
Proficiency in database management and optimization techniques.
Strong understanding of database security best practices.
Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and automation frameworks (e.g., Azure DevOps, TerraForm).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Version Control systems (e.g., GIT).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
Experience with additional cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
Knowledge of Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
