Java Backend Developer

For 2 separate clients (Brussels & East-Flanders), we are looking for motivated Backend Java Developers.
As a Backend Java Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic and infrastructure of our client's applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust and scalable backend systems, enabling seamless user experiences and driving business growth.
Important note: Dutch on level C1 (CEFR) is necessary for this role

Key responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and related technologies
• Database Management: Manage and optimize databases, ensuring data quality, availability, and performance
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases is a plus
• API Integration: Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to connect various services and systems
• Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize backend processes to enhance system performance and scalability
• Security: Implement security measures to protect data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Collaboration: Work closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
• Testing: Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure the reliability and stability of the backend services
• Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for backend development processes and solutions
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve backend issues and bugs in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proven experience as a Backend Java Developer or in a similar role
• Proficiency in Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate)
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems
• Experience with RESTful API development and integration
• Familiarity with Version Control systems (e.g., GIT)

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of MicroServices architecture
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Certifications in relevant technologies
