Responsibilities

As a Senior Automation Engineer at Boolean, you will lead various projects across different sectors. Your responsibilities will include advanced PLC programming, designing and implementing cloud solutions, and developing complex data acquisition systems. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between IT, OT, and IoT, and will be instrumental in shaping the software architecture.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate who can build the future of advanced automation together with us has following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Automation or IT.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automation.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 (required).
  • Experience with other PLC platforms (Omron, Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell) is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of electrical control panels, ability to read electrical schematics, and a hands-on mentality.
  • Experience in Python, Linux, and C is a plus.
  • Knowledge of various protocols and networks such as MQTT, OPC/UA, Modbus TCP/RTU, TCP/IP, Profinet, Ethernet IP, EtherCAT.
  • Accurate, confident, entrepreneurial, and able to work independently.
  • Driving license B and willingness to travel for day trips to clients in Belgium and the Netherlands.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
