Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Freelance Opportunity

For one of our key partners, a prominent european not-for-profit internet service company, we are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in IT engineering and a passion for cutting-edge technologies.

Role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for
  • Leading the design and implementation of a Standard Operating Environment
  • Driving infrastructure modernisation while maintaining performance, security, and reliability
  • Automating processes using tools such as Ansible and Rundeck
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions aligned with strategic goals
  • Monitoring and optimising systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and other tools
  • Mentoring junior team members to foster a culture of learning and growth
  • Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure system stability

Required skills
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years in infrastructure engineering, with expertise in Linux environments (e.g., SELinux, Red Hat derivatives)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and configuration management tools (Ansible)
  • Strong knowledge of DNS, Dnssec, and networking protocols
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions, Virtualisation, and containerisation technologies
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and IT service management tools

Contract details
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Contract duration: 12 months, with the possibility of extensions
  • Work setup: Hybrid (on-site and remote)
