Smals realiseert innovatieve ICT-projecten in e-government en e-health voor instellingen uit de sociale zekerheid en de gezondheidszorg. 'ICT for society' is voor Smals meer dan een slogan: alle projecten hebben een positieve maatschappelijke impact. Zo bouwt Smals mee aan het portaal van de sociale zekerheid en het eHealth-platform. Grensverleggende projecten zijn ons werkterrein: Student@Work, Orgadon, digitalisering van medische voorschriften, raadpleging van de historiek van je loopbaan, snellere doorstroming van testresultaten naar je huisarts... Als Data Scientist speel je een belangrijke rol in de ontwikkeling en validatie van onze datagestuurde oplossingen. Je belangrijkste opdrachten zijn: Machine learning modellen valideren en optimaliseren: - Strikte testprotocollen ontwikkelen om nauwkeurigheid van predictieve modellen te valideren. - De prestaties van de algoritmen optimaliseren door de hyperparameters bij te sturen. - Zorgen voor een efficiënte integratie van de modellen in de productieomgeving. - Nieuwe AI-technieken ontwikkelen en implementeren (LLM, GraphML,...). Mentorschap en leadership: - Mentor zijn van junior data science teamleden. - Workshops en doorlopende trainingssessies organiseren om best practices en de nieuwste ontwikkelingen te delen. - Actief bijdragen aan de groeistrategie van het data science-team. De analytische maturiteit van het bedrijf versnellen: - Mogelijkheden identificeren om bestaande analytische processen te verbeteren. - Hogere normen voor gegevensverwerking en -analyse bevorderen. - Samenwerken met andere afdelingen om data science te integreren in verschillende bedrijfsfuncties. Innovatie en technologische integratie: - Nieuwe technologieën en tools evalueren en integreren om koploper te blijven op het gebied van innovatie. - Onderzoek- en ontwikkelingsprojecten leiden om nieuwe methoden voor gegevensverwerking te onderzoeken. Je hebt minstens vijf jaar professionele ervaring op het gebied van data science. Een PhD in informatica, statistiek, wiskunde of een relevant vakgebied is ook vereist. Deze ervaring en academische achtergrond moeten een uitgebreide praktische expertise in geavanceerde technieken voor machine learning en voor data analyse omvatten. Je beheerst de volgende gebieden: - Geavanceerde kennis van Python en SQL. - Gedegen ervaring met machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, enz.) - Grondig inzicht in algoritmen voor machine learning (klassieke ML, DL, LLM, GraphML). - Kennis van MLOps-technieken. - Kennis van cloud services. - Goede beheersing van Linux. - Kennis van visualisatietools. Je uitstekende analytische vaardigheden stellen je in staat om complexe datasets te interpreteren en relevante inzichten te verkrijgen. Je bent in staat om je communicatiestijl aan te passen aan verschillende stakeholders en technische concepten over te brengen aan een niet-technisch publiek. Tot slot beheers je zowel de Nederlandse, Franse als Engelse taal mondeling en schriftelijk. - Je krijgt een gevarieerde, uitdagende en maatschappelijk relevante job waarbij je bijdraagt aan IT-oplossingen die een belangrijke rol spelen in de samenleving.
