At Jensen Hughes, we are all about making an impact, collaborating and growing – and as a Fire Safety Advisor, you play a crucial role in this. We are a leading global player in fire safety consultancy and are growing steadily in Europe, with offices in Belgium, Finland, Italy, Denmark and the UK & Ireland.
In this role, your focus will be on interpreting and applying fire safety regulations. You will work with project managers (who are responsible for project coordination) and multidisciplinary teams on challenging, both local and international projects. You will do this from our offices in Ghent, Antwerp or Leuven (location in consultation). You will have the opportunity to work on highly visible projects and thus contribute to a safer world.
This is a full-time position with a permanent contract of indefinite duration.
What will you do?
- Technical advice: You interpret relevant fire safety regulations and apply them in a variety of projects.
- Collaboration with project managers: You support the project managers and other specialists in the various phases of the project.
- Communication with customers: You listen to their needs, answer questions and support the project managers in drawing up quotations for our services.
- Reporting and presentation: You clearly put your findings and analyses on paper and present the results to customers.
- Project visits: You visit (mainly Belgian) project locations and participate in meetings, if necessary.
Your responsibilities:
- Interpretation of regulations: You ensure that the fire safety requirements are correctly implemented and substantiated in each project.
- Maintaining customer relations: You build a relationship of trust with customers and translate their wishes into concrete solutions, together with the project managers.
- Support for quotations: You help collect input for quotations and thus contribute to the success of new projects.
- Clear communication: You report findings and analyses in an understandable way and ensure that customers and colleagues remain up-to-date.
- Quality assurance: You deliver your work on time and qualitatively, within the set budgets and deadlines.
What do you need?
- Master's degree in (Fire) Engineering, Civil Engineering or Architecture (or similar).
- Languages: Excellent oral and written skills in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
- Affinity with fire safety: You have a broad interest in the fire safety of buildings.
- Communicative and customer-oriented: You actively listen to customers and can clearly convey your knowledge.
- Independence & team spirit: You work autonomously but also function excellently within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience (via internships or student jobs) is a bonus but not required.
