About the role:

This is a great opportunity for an experienced facilities technician to join our diverse and fast-growing team. In this role, you will perform maintenance tasks at our sites located in Ghent and Nevele, Belgium. This position assists in maintaining the day-to-day operations of the facilities and equipment infrastructure to support our fast-paced product development capabilities across multiple sites, and provides support in the expansion of our office, lab, greenhouse, and field operations.

As a Facilities Technician you will...

  • Work closely with the Facilities and Greenhouse manager to assist in the design, installation and repairs of all facilities and equipment infrastructure according to operational and safety needs.
  • Assist in the standard operating procedures on all facility mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment operates smoothly and safely.
  • Ensure facilities are kept clean and free of any safety hazards.
  • Make minor repairs to equipment and systems as assigned.
  • Work with contractors, vendors, etc. when necessary, including ensuring contracted work is carried out in a professional manner and per Inari guidelines.
  • Receive and process work requests and log any maintenance and repair work in a ticketing system.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required.

You bring....

  • Bachelor Electromechanics or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of facilities maintenance experience; experience working in an agriculture and/or biotech setting would be nice to have.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English both reading and writing.
  • Basic/technical knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
  • Basic/technical knowledge of hand and power tools and their intended use.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
  • Highly motivated and accountable; act with a clear sense of ownership in areas of responsibility.
  • Understand computerized building energy management systems.
  • Understand climate-controlled greenhouse systems.
  • Understand growth chamber environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic team setting. Open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedback.
  • Flexibility in a constantly evolving environment. Capacity to manage ambiguity; deal comfortably with change and ability to make decisions and act without having the total picture.
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems and proactively generate ideas to improve facilities infrastructure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift more than 20 Kg.
  • Curiosity, a desire to continuously learn and have a meaningful impact.
