Overview Adviseur training & talentontwikkeling - YouReCa en DOC training – Join KU Leuven's Outreach entity within the Discovery Coordination (DOC) department. You will help shape a future‑oriented, uniform policy on training and information for researchers and support staff. Responsibilities YouReCa coordinator (50%) Coordinate the YouReCa programme, organising and supporting via the YouReCa working group and steering group for internal KU Leuven meetings with YouReCa stakeholders. Maintain the balanced training portfolio in line with Flemish programme objectives of OYO. In financial co‑responsibility with the vice‑rector for research policy, manage the budget, keep an annual realistic plan and report to the Flemish government. Monitor long‑term sustainability with a multi‑year budget. Plan, organise and follow up YouReCa activities under DOC (e.g. Three Minute Thesis, Falling Walls Lab, Mindfulness for researchers). Represent KU Leuven in inter‑university collaboration on doctoral training and support for young researchers. Advisor Training and Information (50%) Map the full DOC training offer, standardise and uniform trends when necessary. Develop a quality framework, manage the DOC training calendar and support DOC engineers developing training (methodologically and organisationally). Improve practical support for training and information (room booking, scheduling, external partners). Work for clear communication of the training offer. Support the internal learning network NEON for research support staff; champion the network, stimulate discussion, and engage KU Leuven colleagues. Attend internal meetings on training providers and AI training needs. Coordinate DOC participation in the training fund. Evaluate YouReCa, DOC, and NEON training results. Identifie training needs of DOC colleagues and research support staff, and map researcher needs. Create a training portfolio and programme with internal or external providers, paying special attention to soft‑skill training, team dynamics and individual needs. Requirements Clear vision and the ability to realise strategic planning within DOC training, talent development and information provisioning. Master's degree or equivalent experience; PhD or academic research affinity is a plus. Experience or strong affinity with training, talent development and/or curriculum portfolio management; broad interest in research methods and funding. Capable of coordinating multiple projects, tracking deadlines and ensuring quality through continuous cycles of approval, organisation, communication, evaluation and reporting. Stellar stakeholder communication, diplomatic decision‑making and the ability to synthesise different perspectives. Creative thinking, process optimisation and ownership of responsibilities; independent dossier development while thriving in a team. Analytical, planned and comfortable with budget monitoring, reporting and multi‑year planning. Fluency in Dutch and English, clear presentation and reporting skills; proficiency with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, SurveyMonkey. Offer Full‑time employment, indefinite contract; immediate recruitment starts at grade 7. Depending on readiness for all tasks, start at grade 6 or grade 8 for those who bring additional responsibility at start.
