Assignments

We are looking for a TCU Calibration Engineer to join the team and contribute to the calibration and validation for an automotive client.

Your main responsibilities include:

Performing the calibration work packages assigned to you, using dedicated equipment and applying the correct processes
Fine-tuning parameters, validating control strategies, and ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability of the system under different driving scenarios
Defining and conducting test plans to calibrate and validate the transmission system under various operating conditions and test setups (transmission test bench, chassis dynamometer, vehicle)
Performing drivability assessments (objective and subjective), supported by data acquisition systems
Managing the calibration datasets of the software modules assigned to you
Collaborating with different disciplines to solve technical roadblocks
Interacting and exchanging experience with customers, service providers, and teammates across various locations

The profile

Background

You hold a Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent by experience, with a strong interest in the automotive sector.

Must Have

2 to 6 years of experience as a powertrain calibration and/or controls engineer, ideally in drivability, shift quality, torque control, or related areas
Strong automotive background and solid knowledge of powertrain dynamics
Good knowledge of block diagrams and Matlab/Simulink
Experience with calibration tools and data acquisition systems (e.g. Vector CANape, ETAS INCA)
Proficient in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate and report results clearly
Valid EU driving licence (category B)
Flexible mindset, willing to travel abroad and to work in either Sint-Truiden or Lommel
Goal-oriented, persevering, and solution-driven approach
Independent and systematic way of working

Nice to Have

Solid background and knowledge of e-Drive systems
Knowledge of programming languages (C/C++, M-script, Python)
Experience with AVL CRETA, AVL DRIVE, AVL CAMEO, or AVL SPA
