Senior Vulnerability Management & Security Infrastructure Engineer
Brussels, Belgium (on-site) | Contract
We're looking for a senior engineer for a large international public-sector organisation in Brussels. You'll own vulnerability management end to end and automate the processes around it across hybrid on-premise and cloud environments.
What you'll do
- Run the full vulnerability lifecycle, from identification, assessment and prioritisation through remediation tracking and verification.
- Build Python/Bash automation and API integrations that connect scanners, SIEM, ticketing and infrastructure tools.
- Deploy, manage and harden Linux, Windows and VMware ESXi servers, as well as network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN gateways).
- Coordinate remediation with infrastructure, development, cloud, SOC and compliance teams and with external vendors.
- Produce vulnerability reports, remediation plans, dashboards and KPI reporting for stakeholders and management.
- Design and deploy scalable infrastructure and services that support threat and vulnerability data.
- Write clear technical documentation and operational procedures, and automate responses to recurring issues.
What you'll bring
- 10+ years in IT, with at least 5 years in vulnerability management or security infrastructure, plus a minimum of 2 years of post-secondary education.
- Hands-on experience with Rapid7 Nexpose or Nessus, Splunk, and ServiceNow or Jira.
- Deep Linux, Windows and VMware ESXi administration skills, and strong knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs and encryption and authentication protocols.
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and Bash; Java, Go or Rust are a plus.
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP or OVH) with Terraform and Ansible, and familiarity with DevSecOps, Docker/Kubernetes and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- At least one cybersecurity certification plus one engineering, architecture, programming or product certification (mandatory).
- English at C1 level. French or another EU language is an advantage.
