Engineering Manager Brussels, BelgiumWe are now seeking an Engineering Manager to lead teams responsible for the development, operation, and modernization of the company’s core operational infrastructure, ensuring stability, performance, and compliance across high-availability systems that support international financial transactions.Role OverviewAs an Engineering Manager, you will lead multiple engineering teams delivering end-to-end solutions that underpin the company’s global operations. You will be accountable for the reliability and scalability of critical systems, overseeing both development and operational delivery.This role requires a proven leader capable of bridging the gap between mid-level and senior engineers, driving technical excellence, and fostering a collaborative, performance-driven culture.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead, coach, and inspire engineering teams responsible for core infrastructure and platform services.Mentor engineers, helping mid-level talent grow into senior and leadership positions.Foster a culture of ownership, reliability, and continuous improvement.Technical & Operational ManagementOversee the design, delivery, and ongoing stability of mission-critical systems and services.Drive modernization initiatives to enhance resilience, scalability, and observability.Ensure best-practice implementation across CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure reliability.Collaboration & Stakeholder ManagementPartner closely with product, operations, and customer support teams to align delivery with business needs.Translate strategic goals into actionable engineering roadmaps and measurable outcomes.Communicate progress, challenges, and dependencies to executive stakeholders clearly and effectively.Risk, Compliance & Regulatory AwarenessEnsure infrastructure and software services comply with financial regulations and internal governance standards.Maintain high standards for system security, data protection, and operational continuity.Champion best practices in risk management and incident response.Required Experience & Skills8+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering, including 3+ years in a managerial capacity.Proven track record managing critical, high-availability infrastructure or platform services.Strong understanding of the financial services industry, including regulatory and compliance considerations.Experience with modern infrastructure technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling).Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
