Spott is a YC-backed AI startup with its office in Leuven, Belgium. We are on a mission to transform the recruitment industry, by making recruiting faster, smarter and more efficient. Together, we're building the first AI-native recruitment platform (ATS & CRM) that empowers professional recruiters to close significantly more placements.
What We're Looking For
To help us achieve our mission and support our growth we're looking for a Software engineer, especially Backend. We are product-obsessed. Everything we create needs to be better than any existing version of it on the market - and you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that standard is upheld.
You have a Master's degree in IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in backend development.
Passion for solving complex technical challenges and designing scalable software solutions. You understand technical tradeoffs and make pragmatic decisions.
Experience building AI-driven applications (e.g. prompt engineering and/or fine-tuning experience are a plus).
A growth mindset - eager to learn, experiment, and expand your knowledge.
What You'll Do
You'll be focused on back-end development of our recruitment platform, working mainly with Typescript, Next.js and Node.js.
You'll work on core product features and Backend code improvements, ensuring all systems can support the growth of our customer base.
Take part in product refinement, brainstorming, prioritization sessions and impact both WHAT and HOW we build.
Work in a supportive, open, and fast-moving environment where you can learn and grow quickly.

2. Screening call (30min)
We want to learn about your motivations to join Spott, determine why you'd be a great fit, and answer any questions you may have for us
3. Technical screen (60min)
We talk through a typical engineering problem we face at Spott to learn more about how you think as an engineer
4. Culture interview (60min)
We go in more detail on your past experiences, how you like to work, etc. to learn whether there's a fit with our way of working and what we value
