We are looking for an Expert in AI/NLP/ML for an EU Institution in Brussels (50% onsite).DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS• Development, maintenance, and optimization of software solutions in the fields of NLP, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence; • Design, training, and optimization of machine learning and deep learning models using structured and unstructured data; • Feature selection, classifier building, and performance optimization using state-of-the-art ML techniques; • Improvement, evaluation, and long-term monitoring of machine translation (MT) quality across multiple language pairs; • Data mining, data analysis, and implementation of automated anomaly detection and performance monitoring systems; • Data processing, cleansing, validation, and integrity checks to ensure high-quality data; • Definition and implementation of data rules, controls, and quality standards in collaboration with data stewards and IT stakeholders; • Design and analysis of IT and data architectures, including master- and metadata management concepts; • Contribution to data management strategies, policies, and related IT requirements; • Provision of expert technical advice, studies, and evaluations related to AI, advanced analytics, and data warehouse technologies; • Development and maintenance of BI and reporting solutions aligned with reference architectures and business requirements; • Support to advanced analytics teams and assistance in resolving production and operational issues when required.REQUIREMENTS• Strong expertise in NLP, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, including development and training of models using structured and unstructured data; • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, R, Matlab, SQL and Bash, with hands-on experience in NLP/ML libraries and frameworks; • Solid knowledge of machine learning algorithms, applied statistics, data mining techniques and AI frameworks; • Experience with data management, data quality, data governance, and working with large-scale datasets, data lakes and non-structured databases; • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), Linux/Unix environments, and Big Data technologies; • Experience with databases and query languages (Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL, NoSQL); • Knowledge of machine translation quality evaluation, NLP system lifecycles, and agile software development methodologies; • Familiarity with data visualization tools and BI/reporting solutions; • Strong analytical, data-driven and problem-solving mindset with attention to quality and performance; • Excellent communication skills, ability to work autonomously and in teams, and capacity to produce clear technical documentation; • Fluent in EnglishCERTIFICATIONS & STANDARDS (Optional):• AWS Certified Machine Learning• Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate• SAS Certified Professional AI and Machine Learning CertificationEU citizenship is required for security clearance.
