US Law Firm - Antitrust & Competition Associate - Growth Hire I'm currently partnering with a leading US firm to recruit a Competition/Antitrust Associate for their Brussels office, where the team is expanding following significant growth across the firm's global antitrust practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented lawyer to join a highly respected, international competition team working across Brussels, Paris, London and the US. About the Role This position sits within a small, lean, and highly specialised competition team, offering genuine hands-on exposure and early responsibility on sophisticated, high-value matters. You'll work closely with partners, senior counsel and associates, as well as the wider international antitrust practice. The team advises on a broad spectrum of EU and multi-jurisdictional competition matters, including: Merger control (EU & global filings) for high-profile cross-border transactions Antitrust investigations and cartel/abuse of dominance cases Foreign direct investment (FDI) reviews State aid, competition compliance and advisory work Coordinating complex matters involving multiple regulators across Europe and the US There is significant exposure to German clients, so candidates with German language skills or a German qualification are particularly encouraged to apply, though the team welcomes all EU-qualified lawyers with strong competition backgrounds. This is a role where you will work directly with major global clients, take ownership of matters early on, and build a practice within a team that is firmly on an upward growth trajectory. What They're Looking For 2–6 PQE (flexible depending on experience) EU-qualified (German qualification highly desirable but not required) Strong experience in EU competition/antitrust matters Exposure to merger control and/or investigations is strongly valued Ability to work collaboratively across international offices Salary & Hours Compensation approx. 10% below London's Cravath-scale US firms (highly competitive by Brussels standards) Target hours: 1825 Discretionary bonus, based on hours, individual contribution, and firm performance (paid January)
