Position OverviewThe Senior Safety Engineer is responsible for delivering safety engineering services across industrial and building-related projects. The role involves performing risk analyses, developing safety studies and reports, conducting site visits, and supporting clients with compliance to applicable safety and environmental regulations. The position is permanent and intended as an internal/payroll role.
Key Responsibilities
Perform risk analyses and safety assessments for industrial and building-related projectsPrepare safety studies, technical reports, and documentationConduct site visits, audits, and inspectionsParticipate in and document technical and safety-related meetingsAdvise stakeholders on safety requirements and regulatory complianceAnticipate client needs and translate them into appropriate safety solutionsContribute to multidisciplinary project teamsScope of Safety StudiesThe role may include responsibility for one or more of the following areas:Fire safety, prevention, and protection in accordance with Belgian legislation (e.g. Royal Decrees on fire prevention)ATEX (Explosive Atmospheres) assessmentsHAZOP (Hazard and Operability Studies)SIL (Safety Integrity Level) studiesMachine safety certification, particularly for complex machineryEnvironmental safetySeveso-related studies, including LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) and SILPED (Pressure Equipment Directive) complianceRequired Qualifications and ExperienceSafety-related qualification (e.g. Master’s degree in Safety and Environmental Management or equivalent) or proven relevant professional experienceMinimum 10 years of experience in safety-related rolesStrong knowledge of Belgian HSE legislation, particularly within industrial environmentsDemonstrated experience in several of the safety disciplines listed aboveWillingness and ability to continuously learn and develop technical expertiseSounds like you?Reach out to me on the belowC.
