EHS Specialist

Department Description and Responsibilities The Functional Materials platform is dedicated to developing and optimising materials for catalytic and electrochemical applications. Safety, quality, and environmental compliance are embedded in our operations and culture. Project Description The contractor will support the Restart Project within the Functional Materials platform, ensuring e compliance during the relocation and integration of chemical products into the database and warehouse system. The role includes administrative and field activities, as well as acting as the primary QHSE contact for the project. Primary Tasks and Responsibilities • Act as QHSE expert in project activities, ensuring risk-aware operations. • Promote and implement the STOP reflex and Golden Rules across the site. • Conduct process risk analyses and verify safety-critical components. • Organise and facilitate workshops on risk awareness and safety measures. • Monitor and report QHSE-related KPIs. • Manage chemical product registration in the database and assign correct storage locations.• Provide coaching and guidance on QHSE compliance to staff and supervisors. • Support the hierarchical line in drafting risk analyses, instructions, and emergency procedures. Technical Profile Requirements • Bachelor or Master's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. • Certified Prevention Advisor Level 2 (mandatory). • Experience in process industry (nice to have).• Strong understanding of safety-critical components and process risk analysis. Non-Technical Profile Requirements • Senior profile with ability to quickly adapt and take ownership. • Strong communication skills and hands-on mentality. • Analytical, proactive, and pragmatic approach. • Experience in training and coaching teams. • High sense of responsibility and autonomy. Methodology/Certification Requirements • Prevention Advisor Level 2 certification. • Familiarity with QHSE standards and best practices. Language Proficiencies • Dutch and English (spoken and written). Location • 100% onsite presence at Olen • Occasional home office possible.
