Direct Reports To: Site HSSE ManagerSummary:
Basic function of the role of HSSE Trainer is to design, develop and deliver a range of safety programs covering all aspects of the construction site.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all training material is up to date.
- Ensure day by day training to the required company and contractor’s personnel.
- Ensure implementation & compliance of the training procedure.
- Record all training performed and conduct training tests.
- Deliver all HSSE training necessary for the safe execution of the construction works.
- Coordinate training activities to ensure high standards of training, delivered safely and effectively.
- Deliver in-house HSSE Training (e.g., Site induction, Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Working at Heights, etc.).
- Complete and mark assessments after each training.
- Develop new and update existing training materials.
- Design bespoke courses to meet site project needs.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of staff attendance for all training courses delivered.
- Develop necessary reports and statistics including training non-compliances as necessary at regular frequency.
- Guide the development of the site Project orientation and coordinate the HSSE Training program for all personnel coming to site.
- Verify that the HSSE Training Matrix is respected.
- Control certificates from third parties for specific training required by Belgian regulations (if required).
- Deliver training in English, Dutch, and any additional languages appreciated.
- Computer literate with experience of MS Office and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate widely in a clear manner.
- Demonstrable ability to problem solve and resolve conflicts.
- Approachable, tactful, and diplomatic.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize work, meeting agreed deadlines.
- Good communication and writing in English and Dutch, and any additional languages appreciated.
- Proficiency with Oracle preferred.
- BSc, Engineering Degree, or Diploma or equivalent.
- HSE training qualifications, recognized locally or internationally or equivalent proven experience.
- 5 years field trainer experience.
- Manage the workload to completion.
- Work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department.
- Operate a Company vehicle.
- Interface with all disciplines on site and manage multiple stakeholders, willing to hold potentially difficult conversations.
