Project Manager – Engineering

The Engineering & Property Services team is responsible for supporting buildings and facilities across Belgium, delivering services across Engineering, Strategic Project Delivery, Real Estate and Facilities Management. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading capital projects from concept through to completion, working closely with internal stakeholders, engineering partners, contractors and other project team members.

We are looking for a standard Project Manager profile with strong capital project experience and the necessary level of seniority to independently lead projects in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

The role will be based in Antwerp but there will be frequent travel to a site in the Antwerp region.

Potential Projects

The Project Manager may be involved in projects including:

• Replacement of sprinkler pipework and supply systems
• Increasing the load-bearing capacity of a false ceiling
• Expansion of an existing building to provide additional cold storage capacity

The wider project portfolio may include capital projects across facilities, utilities, HVAC, E&I, building infrastructure and manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple capital investment projects, potentially ranging from €500k to €10m, from concept through to completion.
• Define and plan projects in close collaboration with business stakeholders to deliver appropriate engineering solutions.
• Lead projects through the standard IDEA project delivery process: Ideation, Definition, Execution and Assessment.
• Coordinate internal and external project teams, including engineering consultants, contractors and other project partners.
• Ensure projects are delivered against agreed scope, cost, schedule, quality and cash-flow targets.
• Translate business requirements into practical and technically appropriate engineering solutions.
• Develop project execution strategies covering design, procurement, construction, risk and project controls.
• Ensure projects are designed and delivered with appropriate consideration for EHS, quality, regulatory requirements, lifecycle and constructability.
• Prepare and support Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) in line with corporate funding procedures.
• Maintain clear communication with project sponsors, users and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain project reporting covering scope, budget, schedule, risks, mitigations and overall performance.
• Lead construction safety activities and work closely with EHS to ensure appropriate standards are maintained.
• Manage contractors and external partners, including contract and commercial discussions where required.
• Lead project close-out activities, including operational handover, documentation, financial closure, lessons learned and value delivery.
• Ensure compliance with relevant company policies, statutory requirements and regulatory standards.

Required

• Proven experience delivering capital projects within an industrial, manufacturing or similarly complex environment.
• Experience managing projects from concept/design through construction, commissioning/start-up and handover.
• Strong understanding of project controls, including cost, schedule and budget management.
• Ability to translate business requirements into engineering solutions.
• Experience coordinating internal teams, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing contracts and working with external suppliers and contractors.
• Working knowledge of engineering disciplines such as utilities, HVAC and E&I.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and with stakeholders at different levels of an organisation. xlxgzvr
