DATA ARCHITECT JAVA SOFTWARE PUBLIC On behalf of our client operating in the public sector, we are looking for a Data Architect to participate in a strategic project to transform a monolithic application into microservice architecture, including the integration of external ICT modules. You will be actively involved in addressing the challenges of migrating legacy data to a microservices-based, message-driven architecture. Responsibilities: Design and document data and application architectures aligned with the enterprise information system, using formal models to ensure consistency, scalability, and interoperability. Define canonical and domain data models, and drive the migration of legacy datasets towards microservices-based, message-driven target architectures. Enforce architectural principles, standards, and non-functional requirements (security, performance, resilience, compliance) across solutions. Provide end-to-end architectural support throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and production. Deliver hands-on technical expertise to development and architecture teams across modern platforms and toolchains (Java/Spring Boot, messaging, containers, CI/CD, cloud-native environments). Produce and maintain high-quality architectural documentation and actively contribute to architecture governance bodies, design reviews, and technical steering committees. Qualifications: Proficient in Data Applicative Architecture with at least 10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally with a previous experience in the Belgian Public Sector. Expert Data Modelling with a vision of organizing applications into microservices. Familiarity with the following technologies: angular, Java, WebLogic, Fortify, Spring/SpringBoot, ActiveMQ Artemis, Docker/Kubernetes, Openshift, Gitlab-CI, ArgoCD, OIDC, OAuth2, Grafana, Kibana, OpenAPI, DevOps, CI/CD) You can work in a multilingual environment, enabling both Dutch and French speaking colleagues to communicate in their own language.
