Today, we are looking for a full-time 'Facilities & Test Setups (FTS) Manager' to join our Assets & Resources (A&R) service.

Your responsibilities

You will:

  • Develop strategies to maintain the highest safety and security standards for all test facilities and guarantee that they are up to date and can be operated at any moment.
  • Set up, maintain, and communicate the test environment (facilities and associated personnel).
  • Report to the Chief Operations Officer
  • Manage a team of 15 to 20 persons (Operational management)

Main activities

Team management

  • Distributes the workload among the available technical personnel, considering the specific competences of each member of the team, making sure people are working at full performance and capacity.
  • Assists the instrumentation coordinator in the setup and maintenance of the instrumentation warehouse.
  • Sets up and updates daily, weekly, and monthly plannings for the team, and communicates this planning to the internal clients.
  • Coaches and motivates people, for instance by organizing information sessions on new projects in cooperation with the project owner.
  • Validates timesheets and leave requests and conducts yearly personnel evaluations.
  • Develops a long-term personnel strategy, define hiring needs and participates in recruiting interviews.
  • Identifies training needs and organise personnel development growth paths for the team members, including safety trainings.
  • Makes sure that all knowhow is well distributed amongst multiple team members in order to enable continued operations in case of overbooking, illness, holiday, etc. of individual team members.
  • Stimulates all team members to work with a positive attitude and a desire to improve their skills and performance.
  • Develops strategies to optimize the efficiency of the technical crew.
  • Develops training programs, both on facility operations and on security, the latter in cooperation with Safety and Prevention Advisor and CPPT.

Project management

  • Discusses the availability and workload of the technical personnel with the internal clients (engineers, PhD's and faculty) during project gate meetings (G2 and PCR) and organizes the workload accordingly.
  • Set up, maintain, and communicate the daily, weekly, and monthly planning of the technical crew, and negotiate with the internal clients in case of planning conflicts.

Facility management

  • Supervises facility and ad-hoc assemblies, focussing on the safety of personnel and material.
  • Conducts risk assessments, maintenance schedules and safety reviews and proposes long-term development policies for our major facilities, in cooperation with the different rig owners.
  • Set up a maintenance and renovation plan for the test environment equipment.
  • Manage a team of technicians to prepare and maintain test facilities and ad-hoc installations.

Job requirements

  • Industrial engineer or equivalent through experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical and safety standards, as well as applicable regulations.
  • Knowledge of 1 of the national languages and good knowledge of English (written and spoken).
  • Problem-solving & autonomous.
  • Highly developed social & communication skills.
  • People management and project management skills.
  • Willingness to learn the functioning of the major facilities.
