About The Role We are currently seeking a Design Release Engineer to join our team. By joining us, you'll be part of a leading company that is shaping the future of hybrid transmission technology. We are looking for a highly motivated Design Release Engineer to join our Mechanics team. The position is also open for a junior or low‑experience engineer to be trained in the role. Responsibilities Designing, developing, and releasing mechanical components for park systems and actuation for electric vehicle (EV), hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), and plug‑in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) applications. Guiding the engineering development of mechanical components from design concept into product launch, including FE simulations, mechanical design, and supplier communication. Coordinating the release of designs, obtaining design approvals, ensuring manufacturability, component readiness, tracking piece cost, investment & mass, supporting future design direction, leading and facilitating resolution of component issues. Leading design changes through product development (PD), change request (CR), change notice (CN), global issue management (GIM), forever request (FR), interim approval authorization (IAA), and quality gates (APQP) processes, as well as warranty process. Supporting supplier quality assurance & warranty resolution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering discipline. Self‑starter with strong leadership and communication skills and demonstrated problem‑solving ability. Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Preferred Skills Advanced degree in engineering. 1+ years of related engineering experience. 1+ years of design release experience. Understanding of hydraulics, design, manufacturing, testing, & development. Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (DFMEA). Knowledge of drawing GD&T and dimensional tolerance stack‑ups. Experience with statement of requirements, DFMEA, and design reviews. Working knowledge of problem resolution and tracking systems and engineering change management processes. Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification.
