AI Sector Lead Financial Services

KPMG Lighthouse is the Data & AI Center of Excellence within KPMG Belgium. As the AI Sector Lead for Financial Services, you will define and drive the AI strategy and market growth across the financial services landscape. You will work closely with senior stakeholders within Banking, Insurance, Asset & Wealth Management, FinTech and Payments to translate regulatory, operational and client-centric challenges into AI-enabled transformation initiatives.This role combines sector leadership, commercial ownership, solution shaping and delivery oversight. You act as a trusted advisor to executive clients and guide multidisciplinary teams across the full AI lifecycle, with a strong focus on trust, compliance and value creation within regulated environments.Your responsibilitiesLead the AI value proposition for the Financial Services sector, defining go-to-market priorities and sector-specific AI offerings.Drive commercial growth by identifying opportunities, building long-term client relationships and leading proposals and pursuits within FS.Translate complex FS business challenges (risk, compliance, customer experience, operations, fraud, reporting) into AI and data-driven solutions, in close collaboration with Lighthouse teams in AI & Transformation, Data Governance, Data Architecture and AAML.Guide end-to-end delivery of AI programs, including strategy, use-case design, data readiness, model development, implementation and change management.Act as an FS AI thought leader by developing viewpoints, contributing to industry events and supporting marketing and eminence initiatives.Build strong relationships with FS partners and directors, ensuring alignment between sector strategy, regulatory context and Lighthouse capabilities.Coach and mentor team members, supporting the development of AI and data capabilities within the Financial Services domain.Safeguard quality, compliance, ethical AI standards and responsible data usage, with strong attention to regulatory expectations and model risk management.What we look forMinimum 10 years of experience in Data, AI or Digital Transformation within Financial Services or a consulting environment serving FS clients.Strong sector expertise in one or more FS domains: Banking, Insurance, Asset & Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Payments or FinTech.Proven commercial and delivery track record, including proposal shaping, deal closing and management of multidisciplinary teams.Ability to clearly articulate AI concepts to both technical and non-technical FS stakeholders, including executives and risk-focused audiences.Solid understanding of data governance, data architecture, model lifecycle management, regulatory compliance and responsible AI principles.Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch.A natural leader with strong stakeholder management skills, strategic mindset and coaching capabilities.What we offerThe opportunity to shape and lead the AI agenda for leading Financial Services institutions in Belgium.A fast-growing Data & AI environment with access to global KPMG FS expertise, assets and frameworks.A collaborative culture with diverse teams and continuous learning opportunities.A hybrid working model with flexibility across Belgian KPMG offices.A competitive remuneration package including mobility budget, insurance coverage, net allowances, training budget and clear career development pathways.About KPMG BelgiumAt KPMG, we empower Financial Services organisations to transform with confidence.
