Junior Buyer

As a Junior Buyer, you ensure the smooth flow of materials to support our R&D-driven product development and manufacturing operations. You'll work closely with suppliers, planners and internal teams to secure on-time deliveries, clean master data and high first-time-right performance. Key responsibilities As a Junior Buyer, you will: Convert purchase requests into purchase orders within the agreed timeframe (< 3 days). Secure confirmations, track shipments, and manage delivery schedules in line with material planning changes. Monitor supply signals and constraints; alert Sales & Operations of any risks or shortages. Maintain accurate vendor and item master data (pricing, minimum order quantity, lead times). Act as first-line gatekeeper for supplier quality issues (Level 0/1); log defects and coordinate initial follow-up. Publish weekly scorecards on supplier delivery performance and order cost. Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., e‐catalogs, EDI integration). Scope & impact As a Junior Buyer, you will: Cover all direct and indirect purchase orders (~4,000 lines / €9M spend annually). Own accuracy of procurement master data and first-line supplier performance. KPI's Purchase request to purchase order cycle time Purchase order confirmation lead time Supplier On-Time Delivery Master data error rate Cost-to-Order (€ per purchase order) Compliance with internal service standards (quality, timelines purchase orders) Required competences Accuracy and attention to detail: You ensure data is clean and transactions are right the first time. Digital fluency: You're' confident working with ERP systems, planning tools and procurement dashboards. Time management prioritisation: You handle deadlines and competing tasks with efficiency. Problem‐solving: You address delivery and quality issues calmly and analytically. Clear communication: You're comfortable coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
