Electrical Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:Oversee electrical site safety and quality assurance in collaboration with the project team, ensuring all works comply with health, safety, and regulatory requirementsManage the overall project programme alongside the wider project team, consulting engineers, and client requirements, with a strong focus on accurate reporting to meet key milestones and deadlinesControl all costs related to electrical work packages, ensuring materials and equipment are procured and delivered in line with the project scheduleManage project budgets, track expenditure, forecast costs, and administer variations and change ordersSupervise day-to-day site activities for electrical contractors, monitoring progress against programme targets and workforce levelsEnsure regular coordination meetings are held with subcontractors, including preparation and distribution of meeting minutesAttend and contribute to site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering and design reviews, coordination meetings, and handover meetingsManage project close-out activities including final accounts, operation and maintenance manuals, snag/punch lists, safety documentation, quality records, third-party inspections, and formal handover documentationSupport engineering delivery by coordinating with key stakeholders such as client design teams, main contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and vendorsReview drawings and technical specifications to fully understand project scope and design intentOversee the coordination of design information into construction and installation drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and programme prioritiesManage requests for information (RFIs), technical submissions, and approvals throughout the electrical design and construction phasesTake technical ownership of quality for electrical design deliverables, as-built documentation, technical submissions, and O&M manualsEnsure all electrical packages meet applicable codes, standards, and specifications, providing technical guidance throughout installation, testing, validation, and client handoverDefine and manage scopes of work for electrical subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, budgets, and commercial constraintsAssist with tender evaluations and cost analysis for electrical work packagesReport regularly to the Project Manager and Commercial Manager on programme impacts, cost implications, and design changesLead, motivate, and coordinate project teams, including engineers, electricians, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure efficient deliveryAct as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding electrical packages, providing regular progress updates and performance reportingPrepare routine progress reports and escalate delays, risks, or issues as requiredIdentify, assess, and manage project risks through structured risk reviews to ensure successful project deliveryCoordinate closely with key stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budgetDevelop and implement project execution strategies with particular focus on quality, environmental, health, and safety standardsDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with agreed milestonesCoordinate electrical activities with other trades and disciplines on siteDevelop and monitor labour projections and weekly performance indicatorsPlan and track material procurement schedules to support programme requirementsAssist in the selection and appointment of subcontractors and supply chain partners in line with project specificationsAttend client and project management meetings as requiredCoordinate the development of testing and commissioning proceduresEnsure compliance with company policies, professional standards, and codes of conductEssential Criteria:Trade qualification and/or relevant third-level qualificationBetween five and ten years' experience in a project management roleDemonstrated experience coordinating and managing large-scale installation projects ideally data centres Experience handling industrial relations mattersStrong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practicesExperience working on design-and-build projectsSolid technical understanding of electrical systems, with working knowledge of mechanical systemsHigh level of IT proficiencyExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsProven ability to perform effectively under pressure and within tight deadlinesStrong leadership capability with the ability to drive complex, large-scale projects
