We are looking for a Cloud Native Developer for a freelance project in Brussels, Belgium. The position is Full-Time (5 days p/week) and hybrid over an initial duration of 9 Months, plus a high likelihood of extensions.

Contractual Details:

  • Duration: 9 Months (plus a high likelihood of extensions)
  • B2B Freelance / Contract
  • 5 Days Per Week / Full-Time
  • Languages: English + French AND/OR Dutch Fluency

About the Role:

As a Cloud Native Developer specializing in Azure, you will play a pivotal role in cloud transformation and modernization initiatives. You will bridge the gap between architectural vision and practical implementation, acting as both a technical advisor and a hands-on developer. Your expertise in Azure and cloud-native application development will drive efficiency, scalability, and security within the cloud environment.

Responsibilities:

Advisory & Training:

  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to application teams on Azure development, DevOps principles, CI/CD, and Terraform methodologies.
  • Develop standardized templates and comprehensive developer documentation to accelerate cloud adoption.
  • Collaborate with architects and project managers to translate functional and technical requirements into actionable backlogs for application teams.
  • Promote and enforce best practices, modern architectures, and automated processes within the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges encountered by application teams during their cloud journey.

Development & Implementation:

  • Design, develop, and implement cloud-native applications and functionalities within the Azure environment using .NET (C# 8.0+), REST APIs (ASP.NET Core, Minimal APIs), and other relevant technologies.
  • Perform thorough code reviews and maintain high code quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve bugs and issues in collaboration with the QA team.
  • Utilize standard modules and best practices, focusing on efficiency and compliance.
  • Work closely with DevOps engineers to integrate applications into CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Maintain and optimize existing applications for performance, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Utilize Docker for containerization.

Consultative Skills:

  • Provide effective training and support (formal or informal) to team members.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical, to effectively convey complex concepts.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing cloud-native applications on Azure using Agile methodologies and CI/CD principles, leveraging Azure DevOps.
  • Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) certification or an Azure Expert-level certification is mandatory.
  • Expertise in .NET (C# 8.0+) and REST API development (ASP.NET Core, Minimal APIs).
  • In-depth experience with Terraform and containerization (Docker).
  • Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns, including microservices, serverless, SOLID principles, CQRS, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Proficiency in relevant technologies such as SQL, SignalR, Redis, Blazor/CSS (Bootstrap, HTML5, Dapr).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with PDF generation (iTextSharp).
  • Knowledge of OpenID Connect.
  • Experience integrating with WCF SOAP services.
