Private equity funds managed by Blackstone acquired DESOTEC in 2021. What will you do as Head of Engineering Existing Installations at DESOTEC? As Head of Engineering , you are a strategic leader who defines and communicates the vision of our engineering department, ensuring full alignment with DESOTEC’s business priorities. You combine leadership with technical expertise to guide your team toward excellence in project execution, innovation, and professional growth. Translate DESOTEC’s business goals into a clear engineering strategy, ensuring both short-term execution and long-term sustainability. Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Project Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projectsin Belgium, but also in the hubs, spread over Europe. Ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and regulatory requirements. Use data and analytics to monitor performance, optimize processes, and drive innovation across engineering operations. Actively support change initiatives and continuous improvement, ensuring DESOTEC remains competitive and future-proof. What does your team look like as Head of Engineering Existing Installations at DESOTEC? You will be based at our headquarters in Rumbeke, Belgium , leading a team of leading a team of engineers (internal and external) with multidisciplinary back-grounds (chemical, automation, (electro)mechanical). You report directly to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Who are you as Head of Engineering Existing Installations at DESOTEC? You are an inspiring and decisive leader, passionate about people, innovation, and sustainability. With your analytical mindset and clear communication, you empower your team to thrive while ensuring DESOTEC’s engineering excellence. Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field, with 7+ years of relevant experience. Proven experience in engineering leadership, ideally in an international and industrial environment. Strong people management skills: recruiting, coaching, and developing high-performing teams. Experience with budget management, reporting, and project performance analysis. Familiar with change management , safety and compliance, and sustainable engineering practices.
