Job Title: Senior AI Engineer / Architect (Azure, GenAI) Location: Brussels, Belgium — hybrid (2-3 days/week in Brussels, 1 day in Ghent) About Growing pAI We're a fast-growing data & AI consultancy based in the vibrant Dok Noord area of Ghent. We're now hiring a Senior AI Engineer / Architect to help us in a industrial project where we have an AI Agent live in 9 countries/factories. We need someone to design, build, and scale production-ready GenAI applications on Azure. Your Role As a hands-on AI Engineer/Architect, you'll design and deliver end-to-end AI solutions using the Azure AI ecosystem. You'll guide technical decisions, mentor a small team, and work closely with product managers and stakeholders to translate business challenges into scalable, secure, and reliable systems. What you'll do • Design and develop AI-driven applications leveraging Generative AI (LLMs, transformers, prompt engineering). • Architect and implement end-to-end solutions on Azure: Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence, Cosmos DB, Azure Functions, and related services. • Develop and expose REST APIs to integrate AI models with enterprise applications. • Manage and optimize data storage using PostgreSQL and Cosmos DB. • Lead and mentor a small team of AI engineers and data specialists; foster technical excellence and collaboration. • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define scope, success criteria, and delivery plans. Required Qualifications • Strong theoretical understanding of GenAI, NLP, and deep learning architectures. • Proven experience with Python and building RESTful APIs. • Hands-on with Azure AI & Data Services, especially one of these: Azure Cosmos DB, Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence, Azure Functions • Some experience with PostgreSQL and distributed data management. • Demonstrated experience in AI system design, architecture, and team leadership. • Excellent communication and mentoring skills. Preferred Skills • Familiarity with Azure OpenAI and/or vector search pipelines. • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and managed identities. • Experience deploying and monitoring AI solutions in production.
