KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSThe following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the tasks:Essential Technical Knowledge & Skills:• Infrastructure: Understanding of servers, storage, virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox).• Networking: WAN/LAN routing, redundancy, bandwidth management, and diagnosing connectivityissues.• Software: Microsoft Server, Linux, ServiceNow• Cybersecurity: Risk assessment, threat mitigation, compliance, and data security.• Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud integration and management.• Scripting/Programming: Python and SQL for automation.• Monitoring: Using tools for real-time system performance monitoring.• Disaster Recovery: Business continuity design and implementation.Essential Soft Skills:• Communication: Clear interaction with users, teams, and OIB's management.• Problem-Solving/Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving issues quickly, often under pressure.• Customer Service: Responding to support tickets and escalating user concerns when necessary.• Time Management & Organisation: Prioritising tasks efficiently.• Critical Thinking: Understanding consequences of actions and finding better solutions.• User-Focused Communication: Explaining technical issues in non-technical terms.• Proactive Support: Identifying potential user issues before they escalate.• Documentation: Creating clear guides and procedures.SPECIFIC EXPERTISEThe following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:• At least 5 years of expertise with VMWare products and tools.• At least 5 years of expertise with Microsoft Server, Active Directory and PowerShell.• At least 2 years of expertise with Linux.• Specific knowledge of the European Commission IT landscape and DIGIT servicecatalogue and tools is considered a significant advantage.CERTIFICATIONS & STANDARDS:Following certificates & standards are required for the performance of tasks:• VMware Certified Professional – vSphere Foundation Administrator (VCP-VVF).• Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.Following certifications are advantageous:• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate.• ITIL Certification.• Linux certification.• IT security certification.
