- Design and implement best-in-class ETL packages and dimensional models for self-service BI solutions.
- Apply your software engineering expertise to implement part of those ETL packages on TimeXtender and towards the future Databricks + DBT.
- Define test scenarios and perform unit and integration testing.
- Implement SQL logic for ingesting the data into our TimeXtender environment.
- Extend the existing data model according to new requirements.
- Provide the necessary data from the data model to the Power BI dashboards.
- Act as primary contact for Corporate IT and Umicore Centers of Expertise during all system implementations.
- Lifelong learning: adopt new techniques and technology in the fast-evolving data landscape.
- You have a Master's degree in applied computer sciences, information technology sciences, engineering, mathematics or economy.
- You have between 3-5 years of experience in the ETL and Datawarehouse domains.
- You can rely on technical knowledge in the following domains: Programming (SQL a must have and Python nice to have), TimeXtender, Azure Cloud (Synapse Serverless, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Server, Azure DevOps, Databricks), DBT (or willingness to go in depth to learn the tool), Data visualization (Power BI), Dimensional modelling.
- You have a good understanding of self-service data analytics governance.
- You have experience in working in a service-driven, customer-oriented environment.
- You have interest in and exposure to industrial activities, processes and technology.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You can work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills.
- You are fluent in English and French or Dutch.
