Cobol Programmer

For our customer in Ghent we are looking for an Senior Cobol Developer on 12 month extendable contract working 4 days on site and 1 day remote. Start Date: Asap Man Days: 220 Location: Gent Languages: NL & ENG Remote Politics: 1 day remote Description We are looking for an experienced COBOL Developer to join our customers team in maintaining, optimizing, and modernizing our legacy systems. As an application developer, you will be part of a dynamic Agile team. You will work on business-critical applications within a complex IT environment, collaborating with other developers, analysts, and project managers. Profile At least 5 years of experience with COBOL Developing, testing, and maintaining applications written in COBOL (both batch and online) Strong analytical skills, independent, and solution-oriented Collaborating with functional analysts and end users to translate requirements into technical solutions Troubleshooting and resolving incidents in production environments Documenting technical designs and changes Competencies Experience with mainframe environments (CICS, JCL, DB2) Familiarity with tools such as IDZ and VSAM Good communication skills in Dutch and/or English Strong analytical skills, independent, and solution-oriented Skills CICS Level: Intermediate Cobol Level: Expert DB2 Level: Intermediate IDZ Level: Nice to have JCL Level: Intermediate VSAM Level: Advanced
