Job Description

Ethics & Compliance Officer Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of the compliance program across all entities and projects.
  • Implement and adjust E&C policies, procedures, and guidelines to comply with local laws.
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, and action plans related to ethics and compliance matters.
  • Participate in internal audits and ensure proper implementation of the compliance program.
  • Conduct annual risk assessments and report on the status of the compliance program.
  • Lead ethics training initiatives and ensure staff attendance and awareness.
  • Coordinate with the network of ethics officers within the perimeter to foster a compliance culture.
  • Monitor ethics-related internal controls and remedial actions.
  • Ensure due diligence on counterparties and provide risk assessments and recommendations.
Data Privacy Manager Responsibilities:
  • Implement national and European data privacy regulations, including GDPR, within the organization.
  • Develop and execute annual data privacy compliance programs and track progress.
  • Conduct regular data mapping and ensure up-to-date documentation on data processing activities.
  • Advise teams on data privacy matters, including drafting relevant contractual documents.
  • Oversee data privacy risk assessments and address privacy concerns across entities.
  • Lead awareness campaigns and training on data privacy policies for employees.
  • Manage internal and external audits on data privacy compliance.
  • Handle data subject requests and ensure timely and accurate responses.
  • Report data breaches and coordinate follow-up actions in line with legal requirements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Holds a law degree with at least 10 years of experience in-house or as an external lawyer.
  • Bilingual in French and English, with knowledge of Dutch being a plus.
  • Strong expertise in ethics, compliance, and data privacy, particularly GDPR and related regulations.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of business operations and the ability to navigate complex international environments.
  • Pragmatic, flexible, and solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to engage, train, and advise diverse teams.
  • Organized, entrepreneurial, and able to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Capable of leading and motivating teams, fostering a strong ethics and compliance culture.
  • Stress-resistant with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving results efficiently.
