We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Enterprise Architect with strong solution architecture experience to manage and evolve our enterprise architecture repository and tools. This role combines technical expertise, strategic insight, and collaborative abilities to ensure the architecture repository supports organizational needs and drives value.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Enterprise Architecture and is expected to focus on bottom-up engagement with senior architects and developers, while also contributing to top-down strategic objectives. This role requires the ability to translate strategic goals into practical architecture guidance, ensuring alignment across the organization's technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Meta-Model Management:
- Define, implement, and maintain the meta-model for the enterprise architecture repository.
- Ensure alignment of architectural elements with organizational standards and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with architects and solution designers to ensure the meta-model reflects real-world implementation needs.
Configuration and Content Management:
- Establish and maintain version control, branch, and merge processes for repository content.
- Oversee the integration and accuracy of data from various sources, such as application catalogues and process documentation.
- Design repository structures that facilitate solution architecture use cases, ensuring practical usability for development teams.
Solution Architecture Guidance:
- Engage with solution architects and developers to ensure repository content supports solution design and implementation.
- Define standards for documenting solution architectures within the repository.
- Assist teams in mapping technical designs to strategic objectives and enterprise standards.
Documentation and Template Development:
- Design and maintain reusable architecture document templates and Visio templates for consistent use across the organization.
- Ensure templates meet the needs of architects and align with organizational standards.
- Develop templates that integrate solution design patterns, improving clarity and reusability.
Data Visualization and Reporting:
- Develop Power BI reports to expose and analyse enterprise architecture content stored in the Orbus repository.
- Leverage OrbusInfinity APIs to extract, transform, and present repository information in reports and dashboards.
- Enable real-time access to repository insights through advanced reporting and visualization tools.
- Develop reports that highlight solution architecture dependencies and risks to aid project teams.
Compliance and Deliverables:
- Produce high-quality compliance deliverables to meet internal and external requirements.
- Generate documentation using repository tools, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
Strategic Collaboration:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of architecture roadmaps supporting strategic programs.
- Collaborate with repository administrators and architects to optimize the repository's structure and enhance user roles and permissions.
- Engage with development teams to ensure repository content aligns with real-world solution designs.
Enterprise Architecture Support:
- Provide expert guidance on EA methodologies and best practices.
- Analyse organizational structures and systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support project teams in aligning solution designs with enterprise standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, repository management, and compliance documentation.
- Expertise in tools such as Orbus Infinity, Visio, and Power BI.
- Experience with APIs, particularly for extracting and integrating data into reporting tools like Power BI.
- Strong understanding of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate).
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with configuration management principles and meta-modelling.
- Experience creating templates, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Previous experience in a multi-stakeholder environment is highly desirable.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability for on-site presence at least three days per week.
- Strong collaboration skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to bridge the gap between high-level enterprise architecture strategy and practical solution design in a dynamic environment.
