About The Role The competition, trade and litigation team in FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications practice in Brussels is growing We are looking for an energetic and dynamic Senior Consultant, with demonstrable experience, to help us provide our clients with the government relations, public affairs and media support around a variety of policy matters in the field of competition, litigation and trade: What You’ll Do Policy monitoring and research, to keep up to date with the latest developments in competition/trade/litigation Attendance at policy and legal events Pro‑active relationship‑building/networking with existing and future clients, officials, law firms and wider stakeholder groups Direct engagement with clients to meet their business needs as part of an FTI team, i.e. with the provision of strategic advice and intelligence relevant to them Active liaison with a variety of stakeholder groups in Brussels and beyond Identification of forthcoming legal, regulatory and policy changes as well as trends with the ability to recognise and strategically advise clients as to how they will be impacted and opportunities for engagement Advise on advocacy and communication strategies Management and ownership of some client accounts on a day‑to‑day basis, with support from senior colleagues; creatively preparing and delivering client programmes. Basic Qualifications Strong academic record Some professional experience post university graduation Legal, economics or public affairs/government relations background A demonstrated interest and/or previous experience in competition cases, trade policy and disputes and/or international litigation matters A thorough understanding of the EU institutional, policy and regulatory landscape Fluency in English both spoken and written Good project management skills Good social skills and team player A self‑starter with a can‑do‑attitude, with the ability to work independently as well as coordinate project delivery as part of a team Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to the wide range of services that the team offers Desirable Qualifications Other languages, in particular European languages, a plus Prior experience in an EU institution or in an EU member state authority or civil service an advantage, or in roles which required interaction with institutions/regulators Total Wellbeing Our goal is to support the wellbeing of you and your families—physically, emotionally, and financially.
