Database Administrator (DBA) – Multi-Database TechnologiesA technology-driven organisation operating complex and business-critical systems is looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to strengthen its database engineering capability within a multi-database, enterprise-scale environment.This role is highly technology-focused and hands-on, covering database operations, performance, security, high availability, and continuous improvement.Database Administrator (DBA) – Role OverviewAs a Database Administrator (DBA), you will be responsible for installing, configuring, operating, and continuously improving database platforms. You will work closely with development, DevOps, IT, and operations teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing database services.Database Administrator (DBA) – Core ResponsibilitiesAs a Database Administrator (DBA), you will:Install, configure, and manage database platforms and related technologiesDesign and implement database solutions aligned with business and technical needsProvide technical support to internal users (developers, DevOps, IT, operations)Perform database backup, restore, and recovery activitiesMonitor database availability, health, and performancePerform performance tuning and optimisation when requiredEnsure database security, access control, and data encryptionTroubleshoot and resolve complex database issuesStay up to date with evolving database technologies and best practicesContribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiativesDatabase Administrator (DBA) – Required ExperienceThe ideal Database Administrator (DBA) has:Master's degree or equivalent experienceMinimum 5+ years of experience as a Database AdministratorProven experience working in production and enterprise environmentsDatabase Administrator (DBA) – Core Technical SkillsStrong expertise in at least one of the following database technologies:OraclePostgreSQLMariaDBSQL ServerIn addition, solid experience with:Data modelling and database designDatabase schema creation and managementBackup and recovery strategiesData integrity and consistencyPerformance tuning and optimisationDatabase security and access managementDisaster recoverySQL and PL/SQLDatabase Administrator (DBA) – Additional & Preferred SkillsExperience with the following is considered a strong plus:Database clustering technologiesOracle ASM, Clusterware, and RACMariaDB Galera and MaxScalePostgreSQL and/or SQL Server in high-availability setupsMonitoring and observability tools (Zabbix, Grafana)Database Administrator (DBA) – Mindset & Soft SkillsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHands-on, pragmatic mindsetWillingness and ability to learn new database technologiesStrong autodidact profile with a passion for continuous learningDatabase Administrator (DBA) – Why This OpportunityTechnically rich role in a multi-database environmentExposure to enterprise-scale platforms and high-availability systemsOpportunity to grow across multiple database technologiesStrong focus on engineering quality and innovation
