We're looking for an experienced Collections Specialist / Coordinator to manage complex collections and recovery cases while supporting colleagues and driving continuous improvement within our Collections team. This is a key individual contributor role, combining operational expertise, stakeholder management, and a customer-focused approach.

What you'll do

  • Manage complex collections and recovery cases from start to finish.
  • Determine the appropriate course of action for delinquent accounts, including contract terminations and the engagement of external partners.
  • Work closely with lawyers, private investigators, and other external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate vehicle recoveries with internal teams and external partners.
  • Monitor workload and case progress, providing guidance and operational support to colleagues.
  • Build strong relationships across Collections, Credit, Customer Care, and other business functions.
  • Prepare reports and insights for the Credit Committee and senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and best practices are consistently applied and regularly reviewed.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • FSMA accredited
  • 5+ years' experience in collections and recoveries, ideally within leasing, banking, or financial services
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to balance customer outcomes and business risk
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Languages:
  • Dutch – C1 minimum
  • French – C1 minimum
  • English – B2 or higher
