The Job

As an Expert Machine Learning Engineer, you'll be an integral part of our dedicated in-house team of AI specialists. Your role entails constructing and refining machine learning models that culminate in resilient, production-ready solutions aimed at optimising company processes.
You possess an unwavering passion for data, adept at unraveling its intricacies to unveil its hidden insights. With extensive experience in handling big data, you excel in developing and implementing a wide spectrum of statistical and machine learning models. Your responsibility extends to meticulously overseeing the performance of your models' output, constantly striving to experiment with novel approaches to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients. Collaboration with our data engineers and cloud architects across projects spanning various sectors is paramount, always adhering to a quality-centric, end-to-end approach. The ultimate outcome? As a senior member, you'll play a pivotal role in fostering knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team. Through a plethora of avenues, you'll actively contribute to disseminating expertise while staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field.

The Skills
You bring these qualities and experiences to the job:
- Mastery in Machine Learning, backed by a Master's or Doctorate in a quantitative field.
- A profound understanding and strong opinions on software design principles.
- Extensive industry experience, with a minimum of 4+ years in machine learning and big data .
- Strong theoretical grounding and practical expertise in general machine learning and deep learning.
- Excellency in both Python & SQL is a must, with additional familiarity in Scala/R.
- Demonstrated proficiency in deploying ML models and expertise in MLOps .
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud engineering .
- Familiarity with GenAI is a big plus.
- Enthusiasm for working with substantial datasets.
- Pragmatic problem-solving approach.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex solutions into lucid explanations.
- Thorough comprehension of the (big) data ecosystem.
- Experience in the consultancy sector is a big plus.
- Fluency in English. Speaking Dutch or French fluently is a big plus.
- You have EU citizenship or a permanent VISA.
