Lead Database Administrator

DBA Microsoft SQL Server Expert M/F This is your mission Are you passionate about database technology and modernizing enterprise IT landscapes? Then this position is for you. As a DBA Microsoft SQL Server Expert, you will be responsible for steering the design, governance, and optimization of our SQL Server ecosystem and mentoring the DBA team to ensure operational excellence and innovation. Build side: Lead the design and evolution of SQL Server solutions (on-premises and Azure SQL DB). Define and implement database governance frameworks (performance, security, standards). Conduct deep-dive performance troubleshooting and optimization (instance, OS, T-SQL level). Collaborate with architects to translate vision into detailed technical designs (LLDs). Drive automation initiatives using PowerShell, DevOps tools, and Terraform. Support migration projects, including SQL Server 2019 to SQL Server 2025 and large-scale database consolidation. Introduce and support NoSQL adoption (MongoDB) where relevant. Run side: Serve as Tier 3 escalation point for complex performance, security, or availability issues. Mentor System and Developer DBAs, fostering technical excellence. Ensure operational procedures are documented and supportable (backup, HA/DR, refresh). Monitor and maintain database health, availability, and compliance with company standards. Provide support in application performance optimization and T-SQL tuning. This is your background You have at least 7–10 years of experience in SQL Server administration and engineering in critical OLTP environments. You enjoy leading teams, designing complex database architectures, and implementing cloud-first strategies.
