🌍 Now Hiring: E&I Automation Technician (Geel, Belgium | Contract)

Are you a hands-on Electricity & Instrumentation technician ready to keep critical production systems running at a leading pharmaceutical site? EFOR Group, a trusted Life Sciences consulting partner, is seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team on a client site in Geel, Belgium, within the Clean Utilities department.

📅 Contract duration: 15/09/2026 – 31/12/2026

What you'll do:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations, control cabinets, motors, frequency drives, and instrumentation
• Support production processes through fast, efficient intervention on technical breakdowns, minimizing downtime on critical installations
• Inspect, test, and maintain low-voltage switchgear (up to 400V), motors, pumps and drives, VFDs and soft starters, PLC-controlled systems and HMI interfaces, emergency power/UPS systems, and lighting installations
• Support calibration, validation, and qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new or modified instrumentation, working closely with the Quality department on deviations
• Log all completed work accurately and on time in the CMMS (Infor - Datastream), including root cause analysis for breakdowns, and contribute to change requests and SOP updates
• Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering on maintenance planning, calibrations, validations, and technical projects, and coordinate with external contractors on specialized interventions
• Work in strict compliance with safety and GMP standards, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, and actively contribute to the site's safety culture
• Progressively integrate into the department's on-call/standby rota following a structured onboarding and buddy period

Your background:

• Technical secondary education in Electromechanics or equivalent; a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Electromechanics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation & Control is preferred
• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as an E&I technician, ideally in an industrial or pharmaceutical setting
• Proven hands-on experience with low-voltage electrical installations and switchgear, instrumentation and process measurement, and PLC systems (Siemens S7)
• Experience in a GMP-regulated environment is a clear advantage
• BA5 (low-voltage) certification – required
• VCA safety certificate – required, or willingness to obtain
• Fluent Dutch (spoken and written) – required; functional reading of technical documentation in English – desired
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs; familiarity with instrumentation protocols (4-20mA, HART, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus) and CMMS systems
• Strong problem-solving skills, team spirit, clear communication, autonomy, flexibility, precision, and the ability to stay calm and effective during critical breakdowns
