Senior Penetration Test Engineer (Infrastructure & Application) Brussels – On-site - Long mission Financial sector – Critical infrastructure We are looking for a Senior Penetration Test Engineer to support infrastructure and application penetration testing within a highly regulated financial environment, in full alignment with the DORA TLPT framework. Mission The objective is to: Identify vulnerabilities in new and existing infrastructures, applications and systems Identify design and implementation weaknesses Assess inter-application flows Validate technical and business security measures, including fraud prevention controls Penetration testing scope Target environments include, but are not limited to: Windows, Linux, Solaris Cloud, on-premise and hybrid infrastructures Industrial Control Systems (ICS) / SCADA Web applications, fat clients APIs and micro-service architectures Host-based audits Social engineering testing (when approved) Testing scenarios Source: internal (corporate networks) and external (Internet) Approach: white-box, grey-box and black-box Methodology: from cautious (discovery, enumeration, vulnerability mapping) to aggressive (exploitation, denial of service), subject to approval Technique: primarily network-based testing (host-based testing and social engineering are not part of this testing type by default) Required profile Minimum 10 years of professional experience as an infrastructure and application penetration tester Minimum 5 years of experience with critical infrastructures Preferably experience in the banking / financial sector Strong experience in pentesting and red teaming ️ Technical skills Security & Networking Network technologies (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Fibre Channel, Bluetooth) and in-depth protocol knowledge Authentication mechanisms (user and machine) Encryption techniques Knowledge of well-known attacks and techniques to defeat security controls Network design and architecture Defence-in-depth security principles Systems & Architectures Operating systems: Windows, Linux, Solaris Cloud services (Microsoft stack) Cloud architecture and principles On-premise, cloud and hybrid topologies Micro-services architectures Enterprise Service Bus (including API gateways) Proprietary systems and protocols, including ICS and SCADA Applications & Development Secure application development Programming languages: Java and Microsoft .NET Databases (Microsoft SQL, Oracle) Middleware (Web Application Servers, ESB, ETL, analytics platforms) Scripting: Bash, Python, PowerShell Soft skills Team player Strong communication skills Ability to work independently High level of discretion Curious mindset Languages English: Full professional proficiency French: Full professional proficiency Dutch: Full professional proficiency
