IS Life – Data Modeler (Senior) Brussels (city center) | Start ASAP | Fluent in French or Dutch (the other at least basic) + good EnglishA leading insurance organization is strengthening its cloud-based data platform to support its ambition of becoming a truly data-driven company. To reinforce the IS Life Data Platform team, we are looking for an experienced Data Modeler. Role & ResponsibilitiesDesign, evolve, and maintain the Enterprise Data Warehouse (eDWH) and analytical data models for the Life business lineTranslate conceptual models into logical models and define source-to-target mappingsCollaborate closely with functional analysts on business and regulatory projectsSupport and advise operational teams on optimal OLTP data model designLead and facilitate workshops with business stakeholdersEnsure compliance with functional and technical design standardsManage and maintain functional documentation ProfileExperienceSenior level: 5–8 years in data modeling and functional analysisStrong experience with star schema modeling and BI principlesSolid understanding of insurance processes (Life insurance is a plus)Experience in Agile and/or Data Mesh environments is an assetMaster's degree in IT, Mathematics, or equivalent experienceTechnical SkillsExpert in Kimball dimensional modeling and 3NFStrong Transact-SQL knowledgeHands-on experience with data modeling tools (e.g. Erwin)Nice to have: MS SQL Server, Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Databricks (PySpark), Data LakesSoft SkillsStructured, proactive, and quality-drivenPragmatic problem solver with a hands-on mindsetStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsAble to work effectively in a small, multicultural teamInterested in shaping the future of a large-scale data platform within the insurance domain?
