Freelance (Enterprise) Data Architect - Greenfield

For a globally active customer in Brussels, we are searching for a freelance (Enterprise) Data Architect for a greenfield project setting up a regional IT department from scratch.As data becomes a critical enabler for operational excellence, reporting, and decision-making, the customer is seeking an experienced Architect to define and structure its data landscape from day one.You will be responsible for defining the enterprise data vision and roadmap. You will design a scalable and future-proof data architecture, including the development of a data warehouse, while establishing clear data governance, data classification, and ownership models.ResponsibilitiesDefine and own the enterprise data architecture for a newly established regional IT organizationBuild a data roadmap covering the next 12–24 months, aligned with business and operational prioritiesDesign the target architecture for a data warehouse and related data platformsValidate and establish data governance frameworks, including roles, responsibilities, and processesDefine and implement data classification standards, ensuring compliance, security, and regulatory alignmentAssess existing data sources and operational systems and integrate them into a coherent data modelSupport tooling selection and early implementation phasesCreate clear documentation, standards, and architectural principles for data managementProfile Proven experience as an Enterprise Data Architect or Senior Data ArchitectStrong experience in greenfield environments, setting up data architecture and governance from scratch is essentialHands-on experience designing and implementing data warehousesSolid knowledge of data governance, data classification, and data management frameworksExperience with modern data platforms, pipelines, and integration patternsAbility to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when neededStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsFluency in English, French and Dutch (all 3 required)Additional DetailsSENIORITY: SeniorSTART DATE: 1st March LATESTDURATION: 6 MonthsEXTENSION: TBCCONTRACT: FreelanceMAIN OFFICE LOCATION: BrusselsONSITE POLICY: 3 days per weekHOURS PER WEEK: 40LANGUAGES: Fluent Dutch, French and EnglishINTERVIEW PROCESS: 1 stageIf you are interested, please forward your updated resume to jay.kukoyi@vividresourcing.com to be considered.
