Senior Technical Analyst - Federal Public Service FinanceWe are currently looking for an experienced Senior Technical Analyst for a long-term assignment within the Federal Public Service Finance, contributing to a large-scale and strategic digital transformation project within a government environment. Location: Brussels – 50% hybrid Start date: March 1, 2026 (April at the latest) Languages: Fluent in English + good knowledge of Dutch or French About the RoleYou will join a major modernization program where an existing monolithic application is being transformed into a modern microservices architecture. The system covers functionalities comparable to a banking or accounting platform, including payments, invoicing, refunds, and administrative processes.As a Senior Technical Analyst, you will play a key role in translating business needs into robust technical solutions, ensuring quality delivery, and guiding both developers and testers throughout the lifecycle of the project. Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate business analyses into functional and technical analyses, with a strong focus on digitization and user-friendlinessProduce clear, sprint-ready user stories and tickets within an Agile/Scrum framework (3-week sprints)Supervise User Acceptance Tests (UAT) and support the resolution of production issuesPrepare and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and interface contractsDesign sequence diagrams and data models for both synchronous and asynchronous architecturesCoach and challenge junior analysts and team members within your pillarAnticipate risks, ensure smooth communication between teams, and contribute to optimizing deadlines, budget, and qualityOptionally take on a project management role, depending on project needs Profile & RequirementsSoft SkillsProactive mindset with a strong commitment to qualityNatural leadership and team spirit, with coaching abilitiesExcellent communication skills and ability to transfer knowledgeFlexible, organized, and solution-orientedTechnical CompetenciesStrong expertise in business process modeling, UML, BPMN, and functional/technical analysisExperience with Java developmentAbility to describe and analyze existing and target processesCapable of estimating development effort, timelines, and costsStrategic and pragmatic mindset with experience in opportunity analysisBasic knowledge of data analysis (valid vs. invalid processing)Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, Postman, SoapUI, SQL clients, and browser developer toolsSolid experience designing sequence diagrams, interface contracts, and data models (SQL mastery required)Basic understanding of testing methodologies Experience & BackgroundProven experience in complex technological environmentsStrong track record in Agile/Scrum projectsExperience with microservices architectures is a strong plus Project Focus AreasYou will contribute to one of the following priority domains:Accounting managementTransaction and order managementRule managementInterface management Why Join This Assignment?Work on a strategic and innovative ICT project with real impactCollaborate with experienced professionals in a multidisciplinary environmentLeverage and further develop your technical expertise and leadership skills
