As part of our cybersecurity offerings, we are seeking skilled freelance Penetration Testers to join our team. The role involves conducting high-quality penetration tests and security assessments for our clients across a wide range of industries.
Role Overview
As a Freelance Penetration Tester, you will be responsible for identifying security vulnerabilities in systems, applications, and networks. You will perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and provide comprehensive reports detailing potential security risks and recommended solutions. While the role is remote, you must be based in the EU and available for occasional travel to our offices in Brussels when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform penetration testing on web applications, networks, and infrastructure.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, red teaming, and ethical hacking exercises.
- Develop comprehensive testing strategies and methodologies.
- Provide detailed reports with findings, risk levels, and remediation recommendations.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and customize assessments accordingly.
- Stay updated with the latest tools, tactics, and vulnerabilities in the cybersecurity domain.
- Provide technical guidance to clients and assist them in mitigating identified vulnerabilities.
- Participate in occasional in-person meetings or assessments in Brussels, Belgium.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and ethical hacking.
- Strong understanding of web application security, network security, and cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Metasploit, Nessus, Nmap, etc.
- Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks (e.g., OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS Benchmarks).
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and automation for testing.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSCP, CEH, CISSP) are a plus.
