COBOL Functional Analyst – Brussels Banking
Are you an experienced Functional Analyst with an understanding of COBOL? We have an exciting opportunity in Brussels, with the potential for yearly extensions.
Role Overview
As a Functional Analyst, you will play a key role in defining and implementing functional architectures within the banking sector. You will collaborate closely with business teams and IT departments to analyze requirements, develop solutions, and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of existing systems and applications.
- Participate in user meetings to capture and refine business needs.
- Analyze functional requirements and draft detailed functional and technical reports.
- Design and execute test plans to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
- Identify and swiftly resolve detected anomalies.
- Provide user support and training where necessary.
- Work closely with business teams and IT stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Maintain and share knowledge with colleagues to enhance team efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to project scope, planning, and budget.
- Report regularly to the Project Leader, Business, IT, and Team Manager.
Your Profile
Proven experience as a Functional Analyst (5+ Years), ideally in the banking or financial sector.
Strong understanding of IT system architectures and banking processes.
Experience with COBOL, JCL, and DB2 is a strong advantage.
Analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Proactive and solution-driven approach.
Strong communication skills to interact with business and technical teams.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in [Dutch or French] and English.
