Position: Solution Architect (KYC/Mortgages)

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid 3 days onsite/week)

Your role & work environment

We are looking a Solution Architect with experience or a broad interest, especially in the

areas of Know Your Customer (KYC) and/or Mortgages. The focus of your architecture

activities will be to establish resilient solution architectures for business and IT problems in

line with the ING Belgium and Group strategy.

A day in the life of a Solution Architect

• You are working in cooperation with IT and Business stakeholders recognizing the

correlation / dependencies between their activities.

• You create your designs in close collaboration with the engineers and Domain Architects,

guiding them to the deployment of the design.

• You own the end-to-end architecture of KYC and/or Mortgages capabilities ensuring that

regulatory requirements, business processes, data flows and IT solutions evolve coherently.

• You drive to make complex changes or projects happen within and across Tribes. Your

holistic view as well as your knowledge of both Business and IT are crucial in the translation

of business requirements in a sequence that delivers customer value as early as possible.

• You define and align the roadmaps between squads – from same or different Tribes – and

other parts of the organization and thoroughly manage dependencies.

• You are the connecting pin between colleagues having different expertise in self-steering

teams (squads). Your colleagues will be IT Integrators, IT Solution Architects, Engineers,

Domain Architects, Product Owners or Squad Masters, Developers, Customer Journey Experts,etc.

• You are a driver of the solution approach (together with squads) using in-depth knowledge

of Business and IT such as architecture, application landscapes, infrastructure, business

operations and legislation.

As a Solution Architect, you will also need:

• At least 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in solution architecture, software

engineering, or IT delivery.

• Affinity with architectural practices, solution design, and translating business requirements

into sustainable technology solutions.

• TOGAF, ArchiMate, and/or Public Cloud certifications are considered a plus.

• Broad interest in banking technology, with knowledge of domains such Know Your Customer

(KYC) or Mortgages being an asset.

• Proficient in English (ING's corporate language) and Dutch or French.

• Strong behavioural competencies: collaboration, communication, stakeholder management,

innovation, and the ability to navigate complexity and drive pragmatic decision-making.

• Strong technical competencies with attention to architecture principles, data, privacy,

security, scalability, performance, resilience, cost and ethics. Able to work autonomously and act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner for engineers, product teams, and fellow architects. xlxgzvr

• Ability to design end-to-end solutions, balance functional and non-functional requirements,

and document architectural decisions in a clear and structured manner.
