Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a highly skilled Corporate Accountant to join our team and play a crucial role in managing our financial operations for the Belgian legal entity. As the sole person responsible for accounting in our Belgian entity, you will report directly to the Finance and Accounting Manager at our head office in the Netherlands. If you possess a strong accounting background, a thorough understanding of Belgian legislations, and a meticulous approach to financial management, we encourage you to apply and be a part of our dynamic team at Denso.
Responsibilities- Accounts Payable: Perform data entry for accounts payable, handle general and analytical accounting tasks, process electronic invoicing for accounts payable via Glopip, and confirm intercompany balances, including Denso EU and others.
- Accounts Receivable: Generate manual invoices via JDEdwards for non-Denso Group Companies, process electronic invoicing for accounts receivable via Glopip for Denso Group Companies, manage credit control activities, administer VAT, and confirm intercompany balances, including Denso EU and others.
- Journal Entries: Prepare general journal entries, including bank statements, petty cash, salary journal entries of locals, and more.
- Treasury: Handle bank statements and reconciliation, manage petty cash vouchers, and assist with treasury forecasts towards the EU Head office.
- Payments: Process automated payment transactions, prepare payments for suppliers' invoices and cost declarations, make payments and advanced payments for various expenses, and manage general accounting for company tax and social security.
- Fixed Assets: Record fixed assets in the fixed asset registers and update depreciation tables for fixed assets.
- Accrual Accounting: Book expense and revenue accruals/provisions.
- Monthly Reconciliations: Conduct monthly reconciliations for treasury, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and social debts + salaries accounts.
- Local Belgian Office Financial Closing and Reporting: Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closing activities and prepare audit files and coordinate with Deloitte during audits.
- Providing Assistance & Preparing Documents for Tax Audits: Support HR by providing information for the tax calculation of Japanese staff and assist with the preparation of corporate income tax returns.
- Educational Level: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Experience: Approximately 10 years of experience as an accountant.
- Must have a deep knowledge of Belgian legislations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Languages: Excellent proficiency in Dutch and/or French. Very good command of English.
- Experience with expatriates is a plus.
